Geese - October 18, 2016

This morning some of our friends noticed a flock of geese in the field of adventure playground.

Our friends were very cautious as we crept across the field closer to the geese.

Soon we were very close and the geese started to take off.

One of the children yelled "they fly in a lineup!"

When we reached the end of the fence the children lined up on the bench and all jumped off at the same time.

We hope the geese come visit again soon.

Vacuum - October 13, 2016

This morning outside in Adventure Playground the two boys found this long piece of plastic.  One child looks at the other and says "Hey this is our vacuum cleaner." The other child says "Oh ya it looks like my vacuum at home." The two then worked together to suck up the leaves that were on the ground.

Using the vacuum to suck up the leaves that were around the yard. When they got stuck the two children figured out if they bang the hose on the ground the leaves would come out.

Potatoes - September 26, 2016

It was a little cooler outside today compared to last week but we still had lots of fun. We harvested our potatoes this morning.  We were so excited to help pull them out. We all had to wait patiently for our turn to pull out the potato plant.

We used our muscles to pull out the plant.

Sometimes there was a potato at the end of the plant sometimes there wasn't.

Look at those roots.

We got a potato!!

Another one!

She was so proud to pull out the potato with the plant.

Digging for some more potatoes that were left behind in the dirt.

Look how big our potatoes grew to be.

When we found a potato we put it on the side.

A few of us noticed that some were big and some were small.  Mrs. Leier help us sort out the potatoes from biggest to smallest.

We even found some worms as we were digging. They were very slow moving due to the cold weather.

I wonder what we should make with all these potatoes now.
