Pancake Lunch - August 25, 2016

A few children had said that they would love to have pancakes for lunch so we did.

Helping to make the pancake batter.

We added in flour, sugar, egg, salt, baking powder and milk.

We all got a turn add in something.

Had to have some patience as we waited for our turn.

Really worked our eye hand coordination as we poured our ingredients into the bowl.

Then we got to eat! It was very quiet at the start of lunch as everyone was enjoying their hardwork.

Potatoes - August 23, 2016

This morning we decided to checkout our potato plants. We had to used some tools to take off the front boards.  Once we got them off we had to dig around in the dirt to find the potatoes.

Waiting to see what was inside the box.

Once we got it opened we saw lots of bugs. They moved really fast back into the soil so we didn't see them for long.

Digging to find the potatoes.

We found one!

Found another.

Reaching in to get out the potato.

The biggest one we found.

We really enjoyed the smashed potatoes we made so much that we missed getting any pictures.

🍋Lemonade and Hot Dog Lunch - August 26, 2016

This morning before we went outside we made some homemade lemonade.

We smelt the lemons first.

Then we had to use our muscles to push the lemon on the juicer.  This would make all the juice inside the lemon come out and go into our bowl.

We really had to push hard to get the juice out.

Then we tasted the lemon.

Some of us liked the taste of the lemons.

Some of us found them very sour.

After we added a little sugar and water to the lemon juice.  We had the lemonade with out hotdog lunch today.

We ate lots of hot dogs and watermelon at lunch today.

It was so yummy.

Our Hot Dog lunch today was to mark the end of the summer this year.  Can you believe that next Friday it will be September already.  Where did the summer go?

Kings Park - August 24, 2016

Today was our last day at Kings Park. We joined with XP to explore as much as we could.

We stopped in an area that had lots of amazing trees with low branches for us to climb.

These friends were busy building a fire.

The children were mesmerized by this tree they found on the trail. They created interesting stories as to how the tree fell.
"The wind blew it over!"
"No! It was lightning!"
"I think someone pulled it over like that."

We found patches of mushrooms growing around the base of this tree.

Enjoying our lunch with XP.

After lunch a few of the friends went to explore in the field. The lawnmower had finished while we were eating and there were piles of fresh cut grass in long rows up and down the field.

The children enjoyed burying one another with the grass.

We thought it was funny how many times Mrs.Leier kept sneezing....
We had a wonderful day with wonderful weather. Thanks again to all our parents for your cooperation in having your children ready to go every Wednesday. It made our time at King's park more enjoyable.
