Somersaults

One morning outside on ground zero a bunch of children found the bar and were balancing on it. Anassa went over and started to lean over the bar. After a few moments of hanging upside down she flipped over the bar.  She was so proud that she had done it.  She went back and did it over and over. Soon she had about six other children joining her.  She would take the time to teach any of them how to do a somersault if they needed some help.

After working on the somersaults for a bit the children just decided to hang over the bar upside down.

Gourds
November 13, 2015
This morning we had some gourds that we got from SA2.  A few of the children were interested in what they were.  Anassa, William and Ethan all were talking about how they felt.  Some were bumpy and some were smooth.  There were a bunch of different shapes too.

Two children found a crack in one! They worked together to open the gourd.

Once it was open they explored what was inside.
SEEDS!

They added the seeds to some dirt.

Some of the gourds were very hard.  After some banging on the tables to try and open it Miss Curtis went and got a saw.

We wanted to see what was inside all of the gourds

Aftermath!!
